Are AI design tools GDPR compliant?
It depends on the provider, not on the technology. Communication Designer is operated from Germany by Lino Richter, Berlin, Germany, does not present its generators as permanent project storage, self-hosts its fonts and asks for cookie consent before any non-essential tracking.
The two questions that decide compliance in practice are: what leaves your organisation, and how long is it kept. Keep client names, personal data and confidential figures out of prompts — a brief works fine with roles and context instead of names.
Self-hosted fonts matter more than people expect: loading fonts from a third-party CDN has been treated as a data transfer in German court decisions. Ours are served from our own domain.
The privacy policy names the processors involved and the legal bases. Read it before you put client work through any tool, ours included.
